Know your LCD size. LCD size chart Pick your payment choice. Click on your Size & Type in graph below LCD screens like TV screens are measured diagonally. The 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, and 2.5 inch sizes are standard advertised camera screen sizes. If your not sure of your camera's LCD size, we have an LCD size chart of most common digital cameras with LCD screen sizes listed. We try to keep it up to date but it is hard to keep up. If still unsure about your LCD size check your camera manual specs or look up your camera on one of the many digital camera web sites such as http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/cameraList.php . We do not at this time make a visor smaller than a 1.8 inch size. If your camera is not cramped for space around the screen with buttons or other items, then a 1.8 or even 2.0 inch hood will work just fine on a 1.6 or 1.5 inch screen size camera (see photos below).

Available in the 1.8 and 2.5 inch sizes seen above include: New stylish design which is slightly deeper, better ergonomics with the angled front surface, LCD visor and cover are now die-pressed out for better looks and consistency. The 2.0 is still available in the original style shown below. Our new improved 4 sided Foldable Visor (V4F) design / style is now shipping.

Installation consists of simply placing the three 1/4 inch hook strips provided around your LCD screen. In most cases the 1/4-inch mounting strips will not interfere with any buttons or switches. Some slight modification of the hook strips may be needed on certain cameras. This can easily be accomplished by modifying the 1/4-inch hook strips with a pair of scissors. It doesn't take much to properly hold the visor in place. The outside surfaces are "gunmetal" finish in appearance; this goes well with most all camera bodies. The visor folds flat to carry in pocket or camera bag.

The LCD visor kit includes one visor, one screen protection cover, hook and loop fasteners, and detailed instructions for installation. The visor carries a 30 day guaranteed for workmanship and/or satisfaction.

As an added BONUS I've included with every visor an LCD screen cover to protect your LCD screen when not in use. It is made of the same gunmetal material as the visor. The cover helps to avoid all those nasty finger print smudges on the LCD and from the possibility of scratching the LCD screen surface. It utilizes the same hook strips that the visor uses. When not in use, the cover can be mounted on top of the visor. It also can be mounted in such a way as to block small amounts of light that may find it's way though the velcro loops, giving it even more value.

LCD Glare Reduction Ideas:

Bright light situations such as the beach or snow on sunny days, create a real glare problem on camera LCD's. Besides the use of a hood / visor here are a few other tips for better LCD viewing. Make sure the LCD screen is clean. Finger prints and smudges only obscures the image. We offer an excellent line of safe cleaners and microfiber cloths for coated lenses, and plastic LCD's. Avoid scratches and excessive moisture. See our recommended lens and LCD screen cleaning tips. Using other surroundings to help create shade such as under a tree, tent, or awning. Waiting for the sun to go behind a cloud are all possible options. Shooting with the sun over your shoulder is usually good lighting for the subject, but if you turn slightly in relation to the sun position will sometimes improve the LCD screen image. I have heard of persons draping a towel or other dark cloth over the camera and their head, like the photographers who use view cameras do. Porter's Camera Store inc. offers a slide viewer #52-0134 for $3.95, it is 2"x 2" and the opaque plastic can be removed and then you can use it quite efficiently to view you LCD even in very bright conditions. Also it has a 2x plastic lens on it that enlarges the image. The enlargement is nice but it also tends to pixelate the image and also the image seems brighter that it actually is. In most cases you would not want to attach this to your camera so it would be an extra loose accessory. Of course the Photodon hood / visors offer a great solution to screen glare at a reasonable price. Please e-mail me with your ideas on LCD glare reduction .
